Access to quality, affordable, and effective medical devices is a prerequisite to achieving universal health coverage (UHC).

More than 2 million medical devices are available for disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. However, global access is constrained by a series of complex, interrelated challenges affecting every stage of the product lifecycle from R&D to commercialisation, health technology assessment (HTA) and management. Barriers to accessing health technologies impairs sustainable healthcare service delivery to patients.

MedDev Central is an open-access, lightweight, mobile-first digital platform designed for low-resource settings offering solutions addressing different barriers to medical device access, including knowledge, training, tools and services.
